Foust Elementary

On October 18th, me and two of my friends spent a couple hours at Faust Elementary helping the school with a program they hold a couple times a year helping the less privileged students and their families. They provide them breakfast and usually have something to give the families. This month they gave away lots of books for the children to read as well as snacks. While the parents were being informed of a GED program the school is offering to parents, we red books to the children and then helped them with AR tests for the books we red. Also there were a few families there who spoke no English, so it was nice being able to use my Spanish and communicate with these children as well as their parents. It was a great experience and I was glad I was able to help others less fortunate then me. It also was a great feeling to be able to converse with those who knew no English, as it was the first time I've been able to use my Spanish like that in a real scenario. Attached is a picture of me and my friends outside of Faust after volunteering!
